Who we are:
The Squamish River Watershed Society consists of a diverse group of people who
reside in and around the Sea to Sky corridor. Our meetings are open to the public and we welcome new members. Some Committees and Processes in which we are involved:
Over the years the Squamish River Watershed Society has participated in numerous planning processes. Some of these include the BC Hydro Cheakamus Water Use Planning (since 1998), the Seagrass Conservation Working Group (since 2003), Smart Growth on the Ground (2005-8), and the Sea to Sky Invasive Species Council (since 2008).
We have also assisted other groups in facilitating meetings and developing terms of reference, mission statements, visioning exercises, as well as assisting groups with establishing constitutions, by-laws, and governance. In the past we collaborated with members of the Squamish Estuary Management Committee to create the 1999 Squamish Estuary Management Plan. As well as assisting in the Squanish Estuary Wildlife Management Area Management Plan in August 2007.
